DDI Users' Listserv

The purpose of this list is to allow people who are interested in the development and implementation of the DDI specification to communicate with each other and with the committee that is guiding the development of the specification.

The current products of the DDI Committee's work are an Extensible Markup Language (XML) Document Type Definition (DTD) and Schema that express the DDI model. To see the specification and other information about the project, please go to the Technical Information page.

To subscribe to the list

To subscribe to the listserv, go to the DDI-users page and enter your email address in the field provided near the middle of the page. You will also be asked to enter a password to secure your email account. To complete the subscription process, click on the "Subscribe" button just below the fields you just filled in.

Once you are a member of the list, you can return to the DDI-users page to gain access to your user profile. You can change some of the details of how the list works for you. To do that, you enter your email address and the password you entered above to gain access to your private list settings. The form for changing your subscription is toward the bottom of the above listed Web page.

To post to the list

To post a message to all the list members, send email to ddi-users@icpsr.umich.edu. Please note that only list members may post to the list.

To unsubscribe from the list

To unsubscribe from the list, go to the DDI-users page, the "list information page". At the bottom of the page there is a field in which to enter the email address you want to unsubscribe. Click on the "Edit Options" button. A new Web page, the "DDI-users Configuration" page, will be displayed. At the top left of this new page there is a place for you to enter your password and indicate that you want to unsubscribe from the list.

Should you forget your password, you may also use the "DDI-users Configuration" page to request that your password be mailed to you.
